The SIGN function returns a value that indicates when a specified number is less than, equal to, or greater than 0
(zero).
Return Value
INTEGER. SIGN returns -1
when n<0
, 0
(zero) when n=0
, or 1
when n>0
.

SIGN (n)
Arguments
A numeric expression.
Examples
The following example indicates that the function's argument (-15
) is less than 0
(zero).
